It’s been a little while since I wrote, but if you have been following on social media, you’ll know it’s been up and down. Originally I was hoping to participate in the working holiday visa program in Canada, to help with the preparation stager my canoe trip. Doing the trip plastic free means that I need time to cook, dehydrate and package up my food and other resupply items. I am doing this trip self-sufficient. Unfortunately the visa rules changed during my application period. But happily, I am eligible for a holiday visa, phew! The holiday visa can be for up to 6 months, which will allow me plenty of prep time. So no fear! the trip is still on!
A lot of people have been asking me about the details of my trip, so I am really excited to announce the official launch for my trip next year! It will be in person in Cairns, but don’t worry if you’re not in Cairns, I will be following up with an online launch later in the month.
I will be showing the film ‘Changing Tides’ that toured with the International Ocean Film Festival and two other festivals. After the film, I will be making a short presentation on the 2025 Yukon River Trip! There will be plenty of time for questions too.
Throughout this adventure I will be sharing more about what Endometriosis is, my journey to diagnosis and managing Endo and how I keep adventure in my life. At this event, we will also be joined by someone from QENDO. QENDO supports those with Endo to find the best way to live with and manage the condition. All of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to fundraising for QENDO. You can see all the details below and get your tickets here: https://www.qendo.org.au/events/changingtides
